The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Gunnery Sergeant (FR), ridden by D.J Gilligan and trained by Gordon Elliott. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. D.J Gilligan stated that his instructions were to jump off mid division, get into a rhythm and give his mount the best chance of running to his full potential over todays longer distance and testing ground.
